Attention All College Students:

If you are a college student, you should seriously consider getting an Amazon Prime membership.  I have one and it is amazing!  I use it all the time!  You get free two day shipping on all Prime items (which is a lot of stuff).  Almost everything I have bought from there has gotten free shipping.  Also, you get to stream instant Prime videos (similar titles to those on Netflix).  And you get good deals on kindle books and a free book to borrow every month!  It is a huge discount for students and I use mine all the time!  And, it is only a once a year fee!  Not once a month, once a YEAR!  So great!  If you use the link below to get an account, I get $3 free!  Please do, it is SO worth it!!  You won't regret it!

Lately...

I cannot believe that it is almost summer.  Today I took my first exam.  A lot has changed since the last time I blogged.  I am an English major now.  I work at the church now on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  I am looking for a job for the summer.  I am addicted to the Office.  I have no life because I am super busy with school and work.  I am hoping that things will calm down after next week because I will be done with school.

Life These Days...

So much has changed since I last posted.  I moved home.  I changed my major.  I am now a member of Kirby.  Where to start with all of these changes.  I guess I'll just go in order of events.  First, I joined the church.  I am getting baptized this Sunday night (11-13-11.)  I moved home a few weeks ago, because I just didn't feel like I was supposed to be in the dorm anymore.  It didn't fit as well as it used to.  I loved it at first, but it wore off.  I am glad I did it and got the experience, but I love living at home.  I decided to change my major.  How did that happen?  Well, when I was pulling in the drive way a few weeks ago, I just had this thought.  I was like, "I'm going to be a middle school English teacher."  It was totally out of the blue, but I prayed about it and I feel like it is the Lord's will for me to be an Education major.  I never really considered what the Lord wanted me to major in before then.  I just figured that I like fashion and Fashion Merchandising wouldn't require a lot of math or science.  Now I feel so much better about my decision to be an Education major.  It just fits.
Last Friday was the anniversary of the day that I met Ricky.  We got to spend Friday and Saturday together, because we chaperoned our church's youth camping trip.  It was super fun.  I don't really know what else to write about.  I've been super busy lately with school and church, but I'm hoping things are going to calm down after this week.  This week is the Global Impact Conference at church.  It is Wednesday, today, and Friday nights. I'm excited to go back tonight and hear from whoever is speaking.

Today

Today has been super crazy!  I got up this morning and when I went to unlock my bike lock, I realized that it wasn't l=gook to the bike rack!  Not good!!  I usually never forget to lock it, but apparently last night, I did.  So I rode my bike to Psychology this morning and hooked it up to the nearest bike rack.  After class, I was super hungry, so I went to Einstein Bros Bagels to get some breakfast.  I realized that I may have made a mistake when I walked in and saw the line.  The line was almost out the door, but I figured I would take my chances and hope it would go by quickly.  BIG MISTAKE!  After waiting for about 8 minutes or so, I ordered by toasted cinnamon raison bagel with peanut butter and I got it almost immediately.  But, I also ordered a caramel macchiato.  So I waited and waited and waited and still had no drink.  Everyone that ordered after me got their drinks, but not Alyssa.  So I tell one of the kind ladies behind the counter what I ordered and she acted like she was going to make it right aways, but apparently she then got distracted, because I waited for about 10 more minutes before telling another lady behind the counter about my missing caramel macchiato.  Finally, 30 minutes after entering Einstein Bros Bagels, I received my drink.  The only problem was, my 11:30 class had already started 5 minutes ago.  So I sprinted to the Engineering Admin building to my class only to find that the auditorium doors were closed and there was an adorable little red sign on the door reading, "NO FOOD, NO DRINKS, NO SMOKING."  Fantastic.  Needless to say, I skipped that class and went back to my dorm to cool off, drink my long awaited caramel macchiato, and watch a few episodes of friends before my next class.  Once I got back to my dorm from my ACAD class, I was winding down and chilling out when the fire alarm started going off.  I had to race to find some shoes, my wallet, and turn off all of my lamps then run down the stairs and out of the building.  Talk about a stressful day...

College!

I cannot believe that I am a college student!  It's all coming so fast!  I moved in yesterday and I stayed in my dorm for the first time last night.  My room looks really cute.  I love it!  I'm still a little nervous  about school and everything, but God is in control and will take care of me.
