Graduation

The most important day of a high schooler’s life... Graduation.  It is the mile marker of your entire high school career.  You wish for 4 years that it would get here, but then it just ends.  It ends in a flash.  Before you know it, high school is over.  You'll never see most of the people from your graduating class, and you’re moving out and going off to some foreign place for college.  It’s a whole new experience and it’s scary, but exhilarating all at the same time.  You have a whole new life.  You can reinvent yourself.  You don’t have to be the person you were in high school, you can change your style, your attitude, or even your name.  You may move out, or live at home; know 100 people or 1 person, but you will have at least one thing in common with every other freshman there.  We will all be scared to death of this new experience.  It’s gonna be new to all of us.  No matter how many books and blogs your read to prepare yourself, there’s nothing like the real thing.  We’re all gonna be in the same boat, just try to remember that.

Last Day of High School

Today, i woke up early, studied for my Sociology and AP Environmental Science exams, got ready, and headed to school.  It felt like any ordinary day at first.  I finished my Sociology exam in record time and finished reading Dear John after the test.  Then, I took my AP Environmental Science exam and I finished it in 5 minutes.  Then, I got my mom to email the attendance officer so I could leave early.  As I was walking down the hall to leave, I realized that I would never walk down those halls again.  It was a very bittersweet moment.  It is insane to think that I am done with high school forever.  Even as I type it, it doesn’t seem right.  I feel like a freshman still, but I’m not, I am soon to be a high school graduate.  Oh, and did I mention that graduation is in a week? I can’t wait.  Ricky will finally be all mine.  Then I leave and go to Disney World the day after graduation.  When I get back from that, I have orientation at Memphis, then church camp with Ricky, and then family vacation.  It’s all gonna fly by.  It’s already summer, but before I even realize it, I will be moving my things into my new dorm and getting ready for classes at the University of Memphis.  I’m scared to death, but I know it’ll all work out fine.  As you can tell from my pictures, I'm insanely excited!

Him

It makes me sick to think of how he treats you and what he's made you do.
It makes me sick to think that you'd get back with him after everything he's put you through.
He's taken you to Hell and back, you know it's true.
I know you think I do this because I don't care, but really it's because I do.
I love you like a sister, i wish you could see.
You  mean so much more to me.
I care more about your best interest than any stupid boy ever will.
All he can see is the right now and that's all he ever will.
I can't imagine life without you, but your decisions i do not agree with.
I want to stay by your side through everything, but, please, not this again.
Don't make me sit around and watch him break your heart again,
Because while he's breaking yours, he's breaking mine, too
It kills me to see you upset, but life will go on without him.
You've wasted so much time on him already, why can't you just let him go?
You deserve so much better.
I know that I can't see every side of him, but i can see how he has broken your heart time after time.
Why let him do it again?
You are setting yourself up for disaster and heart break.
I will never understand your repeatedly letting him break your heart.
I will never understand your decisions.
I can't stand behind you and watch your heart be broken again.
I refuse.
I do not trust him and neither should you.
We both know that's true.

Ricky

I love your gorgeous big green eyes,
And the way you kiss me when you say goodbye.
I love the way you say my name,
And how you kiss whatever is in pain.
I love the way we text all day,
But never run out of things to say.
I love your adorable curly hair,
And how you miss me when I'm not there.
I love the way you laugh, even if its at my expense.
I love the way you love me, even though it doesn't make sense.
I love the way you kiss me, and the way you hold my hand.
I love the way you always have to have a pre-made plan.
I love the way you can make me laugh, even make me cry.
I love the way you never want to have to say goodbye.
I love the way you smile,
And the way you can run for miles.
I love the way you love to spend your money on me.
I wish I could show you how much it really means.
I love the way you laugh and sing,
Really, I just love everything.

Please don't go

As promised, here is the first of my collection of poems.  Guess who it's about.

PLEASE DON'T GO

My greatest fear, you know its true, it losing you.
To the pretty faces and pretty places that you once knew.
Sometimes I sleep, its sad but true,
To dream of my one and only you.
I love you more with each passing day.
I wish I could tell you this, but words can't even say
How much you mean to me, how much I care.
I want to know just how we will fare.
I want to know if its true love.
I need an answer from Above.
Will we spend our lives together,
Or will we be separated forever?
All of these questions that haunt my mind
Will be answered in due time.
I should not rush these answers so,
For it is not my right to know.
All I can do is pray and wait
And hope that it really is fate.
I wish and hope with all my heart
That we will never have to be apart.
Being away from you would kill me,
So please promise that you won't leave me be.
I don't want to be that lonely girl
That sits alone inside her own little world.
Please spare me from such misery,
And be with me, just stay with me.
My heart is so full of love for you,
And I really hope that you feel the same way, too.

Haircut

I got a good 6 or 7 inches cut off of my hair today.  It is a much needed change.  And Ricky likes it, so I'm happy.  I've got 4 days of high school left.  I'm so ready to be out! I think I'll upload some of my poetry in a bit.  Stay tunes!

Me & Ricky

Richard Allen Weaver is his name.  He’s pretty much the greatest ever.  I love him with all my heart.  He’s funny, kind, adorable, sweet, attractive, Godly, amazing, respectful, honest, and much more.  He is such a great guy.  He makes me want to be a better person.  He can always make me laugh; he’s so silly.  He can make me cry, but hates to do so (unless it’s from happiness, of course).  He makes me smile.  I love his smile, his adorable laugh, his cute curly hair, his messy eating habits, his voice, his huge family, and everything else.

My Surprise Party

Kayla and Ricky went through a lot of trouble to throw me a successful surprise party without me finding out about it.  They had to keep it off of Facebook, since i know Ricky’s password.  They invited some people from Ricky’s church and some people from school.  It was a blast.  Ricky took me to Osaka, the best Japanese restaurant around, and we had some awesome Japanese food.  We went to Chick-fil-a for an ice dream after we finished up at Osaka.  Then, we headed back to my house to “watch a movie”.  I had no idea what I was in for.  Then, when we got home, my mom told me to go upstairs and ask my dad about him getting a ticket.  When I opened the door to the game room, everyone popped out and scared me to death.

About Me

Hey there!  My name is Alyssa.  I’m new to the whole MacBook thing, so just bear with me.  I got my MacBook today as a graduation present from my parents.  His name is Charles, but it will probably change another 1000 times before I decide on a name that really fits.  I’m a tad fickle.  Anyway, I’m a senior at DeSoto Central High School in Southaven, Mississippi.  I only have 6 days of school left!  Graduation (or gradge as Ricky likes to call it) is the 23rd!  Ricky is my almost-boyfriend.  We’re not gonna date in high school, so we gotta wait until we graduate.  We met in November at the last football game of the season.  It was a very cold night, and none of us wore jackets, because we were representing the seniors.  We had painted each letter of the word seniors on our shirts.  It was a very fun night and I started going to church with Ricky after that night, and the rest is history.  Now we’re madly in love and all that stuff.  I have an amazing best friend named Kayla Baker.  She’s the best. Well, that’s all I got for now.  There will be more to come.
